rhythmic breathing

arduous heartbeats

sleeps through a mist of purple and heavy bass

sun teases through lapses in green

unable to focus her eyes, ears play the melody of what once


cold hops dance on ridges of tongue in prepubescent warmth

the warmth hesitant, playing, childlike on the tips of noses

electricity buzzes through fingertips as a glance avoids capture

here lies the secret departure

that neither party wishes to declare
